I have a nice collection of PGX and CGC and I have to admit I love the PGX!!! Your service and grading and slabbing all win over my CGC slabs. I can compare the grading and I feel you are a scale better. I also like your grade for 'signed' copies with more info regarding the actual signature. When running a company, it's easy to provide good customer service when things are running smoothly. It's when a problem occurs, that providing good service can be a challenge and will cause the ship to float or sink. Recently, I sent a single book to you guys and there was a problem because of a glitch you had with your shipping company. Well, to make a long story short, the book was not traceable for a couple of weeks and I was getting a little worried it might be lost. After calling, I was very impressed that you folks took the time to work to resolve the matter. You confirmed my book was in fact shipped and took the time to call me at home to reassure me that all was well. A few days later, the book arrived in perfect shape and was beautifully encapsulated, as I expected. I was also very pleased with the grading! On top of that, you guys promised to make things up to me on my next order, which I'm sure you will. I realize there is no such thing as a perfect world. Problems pop up; its how we address them when the time comes that determines our real strengths. I wanted to thank you for the excellent customer service and personal care I received. I was a PGX customer long before this incident happened and I will continue to be in the future. Your product is fantastic and the customer service is exemplary! Thank you... I sent my comics to PGX before, so I know what kind of service I'm getting from PGX.I would send more of my comics graded to PGX, NOT CGC. I would highly recommend PGX for any comic book collector. The workers are very nice and fast turnaround time. Got my books in a hurry from you, thanks for the great service and the emails. Something that cgc should do. Also, I do not see how ebay can eliminate the reference to cgc in a listing. When I list old slot cars or models and I say Aurora like in the listing, where is the problem? Anyway, thanks again!! I was really impressed! WOW! The gentleman that I talked to on the phone was very helpful and I was happy to hear that my order was completed and that my wife's order had arrived safely. I believe that PGX is much better than CGC and I don't see how there can be an argument especially during a side by side comparison. I really like that PGX has a reputation for being very strict at grading because there is no questioning the condition or value especially when one is lucky enough to get a high grade. Thanks for the response. I want to reiterate to you how happy I was w/ the quality of the work you guys did. I think your encapsulations are superior to the CGC. Iﾒll certainly use you folks again, the price for the product (and I did mention the encapsulation is awesome?) is just so much better than what Iﾒve been getting from the CGC.
Thanks for the notes, it was very interesting to see them, especially since once the book is encapsulated the interior becomes ﾓoff limitsﾔ.

If I haven't said so before, I think PGX is doing a fabulous job. I'm completely satisfied with it all. I don't mine the slightly longer wait once in a while. You make up for it in so many other ways. How could I complain. The other grading company isn't "all that". And you can quote me on that.

On the basis of experience, I firmly believe that PGX exceeds CGC
standards when it comes to customer service, cost of grading, and quality of
comic book cases. I also believe that PGX is at least as strict in its
grading as CGC. I think that the ONLY advantage CGC has over PGX is that it
was established first and is therefore currently more known and accepted
among comic collectors.

My first order came in today. Despite the deep seated depression that ensued when I saw my Snake Eyes #4 graded at an 8.5, I must say I am incredibly pleased. (THANK YOU for adding the top labels so I can read these titles while that are resting in a box. HUGE help.)
I wanted to shoot you guys a quick email to let you know how much I loved your service. I despise some of the "holier than thou" behavior we see from the other company, and I'm completely frustrated by their TAT's and pricing. (I.e. Grading a Golden Age Book = First Born + 3 month delay). I also hate having to go thru a local store and deal with a markup just to grade my books. It's nice to see someone else was frustrated by this and has done something about it.
I can't believe the CGC is ABLE to make eBay take down auctions with both PGX and CGC in the title. What happens if I run an auction that's entitled, "The CGC kicked my puppy!" Think they'll get ticked about that?
Again, thank you for the incredibly fast (and accurate) service. I really appreciate all the time and hard work you guys have put into providing this. I can only speak from personal experience and my personal experience with PGX was GREAT! I am beyond satisfied with the service that I received from PGX and I sincerely hope to see your company rise above this current situation as I believe that you guys can be a viable alternative to the CGC juggernaut. I am in the process of sending you several hundred books from my collection, and I have been very pleased with your service. I wanted to emphasize ﾖ hopefully for public consumption ﾖ an important feature of your service that sets you apart from your competition: You give honest apparent grades to restored books. In my experience, the other major grading company slaughters restored books, especially the key books that are most likely to be restored. In theory, once one has identified all of the restoration that a book has undergone, an apparent grade should be the grade that the book would receive if it was unrestored. In practice, the other folks typically award 5.0 and 5.5 grades to restored books that appear to any reasonable observer to be 8.0 and 9.0. I do not understand their motivation, but I am glad that you folks stick to the facts. Keep up the great work. Dear PGX,
My comics arrived from PGX this morning, a week ahead of schedule I might add. Now that's quality service! Even with much of your staff away at conventions last month, you still managed to get my books back to me nearly two weeks early! This is my first experience with PGX and I'm very pleased overall. I thought a couple of my books might grade a bit better, but hey, it is what it is and I'm not a professional grader. The holder you folks came up with is far superior to that of the competition I might add. There is no comparison. It's superior in every way. Just holding your holder in one hand the competition's holder in the other makes this obvious.
This was my first experience sending some of my books to be professionally graded. I was so nervous about sending them across the country. You guys put my fears at ease. You e-mailed me when they arrived and did the same when they were sent back to me.
Anyway, thank you. Please know you have a new customer, as I'll be sending some more books for grading shortly. Also, you have a new advocate out here in the comic world. Great job!! The fact that the inner well is now Barex will be comforting to many people. I like how you sealed the Don Rosa certificates between the holders as well as listed the designation promptly on the cover. I prefer that over CGC's method which is to not seal the COAs inside. It may cover up part of the back cover, but I still prefer to have the COA in with the book rather than floating around outside. It also prevents people from using the COA again with other books. As usual, great job with packaging and turnaround time. I am pleased that PGX is in business! I believe they offer a superior product and service. I wanted to take the time to acknowledge that I had received the 10 graded books submitted, and that for the most part I was extremely pleased. But more importantly, I set up at a relatively small show this past weekend, and I was extremely happy with the enthusiastic inquiries that I had on the books. Most all of the dealers were in agreement that your service is far superior to that of the other mainstay in the business, and all were in agreement that your holders are better.
The nicer part, I thought, was all of the dealers who seem to have a genuine interest in helping increase the market recognition of your product. One dealer had both CGC and PGX, and they were all priced very similarly without any extra ﾓpremiumﾔ being added for CGC over PGX.

I just wanted to let you know that I bought my first CGC comic today.
As you know, I have recently gotten back into the hobby and have been using PGX exclusively to grade my comics. As I said, I got my first CGC comic today and I was not impressed! Your holder is MUCH better than theirs! It just doesnﾒt feel right (after having a PGX slab in hand). It feels flimsy! I think with all the problems that they are having now; you will shine bright in the 3rd party grading world!

I am so happy that I contacted CGC and have them shipping back to me 47 comics that were sent to them and received on Feb 6th, that they were not scheduled to grade and ship back to me until JUNE!!!.
As soon as I get the comics back, I will package up and send to you for grading.
I will be able to get them back, ship them to you, get them graded and sent back, in LESS TIME than waiting for CGC and they have already had them for months!!!

Excellent job on grading the comic books!!! You were fair, tough, and objective!!! I did a lot of research before deciding on where to send some of my comics to be certified for the first time. Of all the other companies (which will remain nameless), It was look of your web site, your interview with STL comics, and overall commitment to customer satisfaction that sold me on PGX. I have no doubt that PGX will become one of the top third-party companies in the industry. Anyway I can help, don't hesitate to ask. More comics will be on the way, when I return from Europe. Top notch holders!!!!!!!! Of interest, I just bought a collection with TWO Spiderman 63s in the
partial run. One was a CGC 9.4, the other, a PGX 9.2. The 9.2 is
discernibly superior, in every way, to the CGC 9.4. PGX's understanding
and practical grading of the 8.0 to 9.9 range is far more consistent and
accurately delineated than CGCs, which is consistently nebulous at best.
Your average PGX 9.2 is a much sharper, cleaner book, WITH LESS INCIDENCE OF
PRODUCTION FLAWS, than your average CGC 9.2 (if you CAN imagine an "average"
CGC 9.2, their grade findings of 9.2ﾒs are wildly inconsistent to each other).
Offer me a CGC 9.2 or a PGX 9.2 of the same book, SIGHT UNSEEN, and I'll
take the PGX 9.2 FOR 10% MORE IN PRICE!! FACT! The grading is tighter and
the production quality seems to be FACTORED INTO THE GRADE.
Overstreet should compile info on the market prices of PGX material. PGX Silver age high end slabs perform VERY well on Ebay, in most cases the end result being equal with CGC price results! Another group of 30 older books heading your way. I intend to use you guys all the time. Plenty of books to go thru each week. Will try and send 30 a week.

I wanted to take a few minutes and tell you how I feel about your company, and to thank you for your service and consistency. Grading comics is an impossible task to do consistently and accurately, which is why we now have 3rd party graders such as your self. The hard part is detaching your self completely and then giving an honest appraisal about the whole book, not just the cover. I personally feel your company is by far the best out there for the collector and for the hobby long term.
First and foremost you have provided a wonderful holder, which is by far stronger, and safer for the comic. The design matches strength with looks, and safety.
Second, in my humble opinion your grading is very, very, very consistent. I also feel more in line with my true appraisal of books. I will actually bid more on a PGX book in the same numeric grade over other graded books because I know it will be a better looking comic in the same grade. I know this because I am a collector who really doesn't care about a grade per say, but how the book looks to me.
Grading is necessary as comics have grown in price, where a .5 difference on some books can mean thousands of dollars. At this point I believe having an impartial 3rd party is of absolute necessity. It also helps track and preserve our pop culture heritage, not that I am a 100% advocate of grading all books, but the norm for selling at a fair market value does seem to be that of graded books.
PGX is my choice for grading, and should be considered a valid choice. For any on the fence give them a try as they are fast, consistent, and provide the safest, strongest, and least expensive service available. I trust PGX with my valuable treasures. I feel like no matter how big or small you are in the comic world PGX will treat you the same. I will be sending you more books for preservation and switching all of my CG? books to your holder. Keep up the good grading, excellent service, and pricing! Looks like a tri-fecta! Make mine a PGX Please!

Certificates and pic's placed in the case and your turn around time is the best. Certificates and Pic's for our private collections rather than just selling on ebay is wonderful. Autograph books that my son and I collected from Superheroes convention in the Carolinas, Pittsburgh comicon, Chicago Comicon and others makes a great touch to our personal collection regardless of grade and pic's of artist autographing our books with us. My favorite is the Chaos crew picture encased in the back of the book, prior to the passing of Steven Hughes on our Lady Death #1 (Leather Cover) that happened to be a Mint 9.9. My first shipment arrived this morning. I must admit that when I
decided I wanted to help you guys out, what impressed me most about your
business were your competitive prices. But now that I've seen your work
firsthand (and the durable holders), I realize that PGX is the real deal!
Thanks, I know you guys must be busy because many of the guys I talk to online are talking about your service and the reputation you are building is great. The biggest comment is that someone is at last being consistent. Did you know that 4 guys did a grading test on you? They each sent in 10 books that had been graded previously by CGC, and then they swapped books and resent them to see if you would give the same grades again. Of the 40 books you graded 28 the same as CGC, 1 higher and the remaining 11 one half grade lower. They agreed with your grading more than CGC. The second round of grading you graded 38 the same, the one that you graded higher than CGC graded to the same as them on the second round and the other one you dropped 2 grades because one of the guys accidentally dropped the book before sending it to you and the fall was the difference between a 7.0 and a 6.0. I can not tell you who the guys that did this are, but you can likely figure it out by which 4 customers suddenly went from a few books to a few hundred submissions. Well done! I got the books today and they are great. I'll be sending you more books this weekend most likely. Keep up the good work!! Hi guys. I just wanted to say nice job with the grading and service. I really don't care much whether my books are graded by CGC or PGX....however, I believe that PGX is a better value and quality for my money, and better protection for my books....and that is what it is all about Really, the whole CGC thing of being better......is all in the mind, sort of like Wal-Mart. They were the first...however, they are not the best....but that is my opinion. I own both CGC and PGX graded issues. PGX is the ONLY grading company I have sent books to......In fact I have another order ready to go out Thursday. I am a collector.........I don't have my books graded to sell for a higher price......at least not for a few years....I have my books graded (slabbed) to protect them.....and your protection is superior. I made 2 seprate submissions to cgc about 1 day apart and sent them out together over 2 monthes ago and still havent even reicieved a shiping notice.!!
I made a submission with you guys in the begining of this month then 1 week later received a notice that you gotem and expected to ship out on the 27th!
Holy cow........ i cant believe i ever made a submision with cgc in the first place!! (not to mention you're guys prices are nothing less than a honest & fair fee!)
